Mister Makan pop-up restaurant

Catch them while you can! You only have until January 13 to have dinner at the Mister Makan pop-up restaurant in Amsterdam. Mister Makan is normally a food truck serving delicious Indonesian food at festivals. But for one month only they’ve opened up a pop-up restaurant in bar Kopstoot in Amsterdam. It’s located just around the corner of the Leidse plein on the Marnixstraat.
At the Mister Makan pop-up restaurant they offer a 3 course menu for 20euros, and you can also order all the dishes a-la-carte.

As starters they have vegetarian spring rolls, lemper (sticky rice with chicken) and the vegetarian starter I had which you see here. It’s crispy tahu and corn cookies (tahu telor with bakwan jagung).

For the main dish you could for example go for a Balinese dish with jasmin rice and chicken, their famous sate (peanut sauce) or the vegetarian Gado Gado with tahoe and peanut sauce.

For dessert I’ve got a very strong preference when it comes to Indonesian food: spekkoek (thousand layer cake), especially when it’s served with vanilla ice cream.

You can check out the Facebook event of the Mister Makan pop up restaurant here.
