Child-friendly Cafe Ovide will open up in Tilburg

Good news for all parents in the Brabant area; Child-friendly Cafe Ovide will open up in Tilburg! With ‘Coffee, Wine and Apple Juice’ as a tag line, you might already know what to expect. Owner Lisette is a mom herself and she always had a dream of opening her own business. This summer her dream is becoming reality with Cafe Ovide; the first lunchroom in Tilburg that is designed for parents and children.

Lisette has worked in a kid-friendly restaurant in the Twente region for many years. She always loved it and that’s when her dream for her own lunchroom that’s nice for adults and children. In the meantime she’s gained experience in several restaurants and she attended the Hotel School.
Despite her passion she started a business career and she worked in HR for 10 years. This year however she decided to quit her job and to follow her dream: her own restaurant.

Cafe Ovide will be a place focussing on the development of children and where their parents (or babysitters) can relax. It’ll have a mature look but in the back there’ll be a playroom where children’s books can be read, arts and crafts can be made and you can ‘play restaurant’.
There’ll even be a baby corner where the smalles ones can crawl around.
For the design of the children’s area Ovide worked together with pedagogy students of Fontys Tilburg.
The ‘adult area’ will still be child-friendly with tables with round edges for example, and there’ll be a changing room with free diapers.

There’ll be a small menu offering coffee and cakes, breakfast and lunch.
This might already sound like heaven for young parent, but it gets even beter: in the afternoon you can get a good glass of wine or a cold bear and some finger-food.
You don’t even have to bring snacks for your offspring; Ovide will have kid-friendly snacks from Spruit and Organix.

Lisette has all kinds of plans for autumn, like early dinners and activities for kids like dancing for toddlers and children’s yoga.
But first it’s time for a big renovation. They’re already working on it in the former Mugs&Muffins building on the Tuinstraat in the city centre of Tilburg.
