The first Happy Italy restaurant opened in Rotterdam about 5 years ago. In the meantime they’ve opened several restaurants in cities like Eindhoven, Arnhem and my new hometown Tilburg.
Last month they’ve opened two new restaurants on one day! One in Amsterdam and one in Den Bosch.
If you live in the Netherlands chances are getting bigger and bigger that there’s an Happy Italy restaurant in your city.
I went to have dinner there to check out their vegetarian options and I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few vegetarian options on the menu. They have a pasta Alle Verdure with tomato sauce, mushrooms, aubergine and paprika and a ravioli with ricotta and spinach just to name a few.
They also have 7 vegetarian pizza’s, 2 vegetarian salads and 5 desserts including a Nutella pizza.
Pictured below is the pasta Pomodori Secchi that I had. It’s served with tomato sauce, rocket, sundried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and pine nuts. You can choose your own pasta, I went for the tagliatelle, but you can also go for penne, fusilli or spaghetti.
