I made healthy pizza’s with whole wheat flour. On this page I’m sharing the recipe of these healthy pizza’s that I made and I’m sharing a video on which you see how to make them. I used whole wheat flour and skipped the cheese for healthier pizza’s. These pizza’s are not only vegetarian but vegan too.
You can decorate the pizza’s the way I did but you can also choose your own toppings of course. I went for one original ingredient to top the pizza’s: truffle potatoes. These purple potatoes add a nice touch of color to your pizza. You can also use regular or sweet potatoes to top the pizza, as long as you slice them thinly. I used a mandoline to slice them very thinly.
I love making healthy pizza’s (check my list with more healthy pizza ideas here) and I hope I can inspire you to make your own healthy pizza’s with this recipe. Scroll down for the recipe and the food video.
Healthy Whole-Wheat Pizza’s
For 2 pizza’s:
60 grams (3/4 cup) whole-wheat flour
60 grams (3/4 cup) all purpose flour
2 teaspoons quick-rising yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
100 ml (1/2) hot water
1.5 teaspoons olive oil
Ideas for the pizza toppings:
Tomato sauce
Oregano
Mushrooms
Truffle potatoes (or regular potatoes)
Put the flour, yeast and salt in a food processor and mix. Combine the water and the olive oil in a cup and slowly add the liquid to the food processor with the motor running. If the dough seems to dry, add some water and if it’s too sticky add some four. Mix until the dough forms a ball.
Kneed a bit more with your hands and transfer the ball to a lightly greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven. Roll several small pizza bases from the dough. Cover an oven tray with baking paper and put the dough on them. Top the pizza’s as you like. I used tomato sauce, oregano, mushrooms and purple truffle potatoes. Put them in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
