If you live in Amsterdam East or if you really like club sandwiches you probably already know Club Koffie. This place at the Krugerplein probably makes the best club sandwiches of Amsterdam, including a delicious vegan one!
But you might not know that nowadays something special is happening in the evenings.
On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays Boemboe Club is taking over!
At Boemboe Club they serve authentic Indonesian food, inspired by the recipes of the chef’s Indonesian grandmother.
The menu slightly changes every week, but they always have delicious vegetarian options. We had Tempeh Sate (tempeh with peanut sauce), steamed rice, tahu in ketjap sauce and atjar (sweet and sour cucumber).
The dessert is also really special: they have ‘spekkoek’ ice cream. ‘Spekkoek’ is an Indonesian cake that tastes a bit like gingerbread, and it’s a very unique ice cream flavor!
They serve several sodas and beers as well as this Satu Gin Tonic with V192 (a Dutch gin), lemon leaf and pepper.
