Mean, Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe (vegan)

Protein shakes are all the range – you’ve probably heard a number of reasons why they’re so good for you and so easy to make, and all for a great reason. However, many people like to overlook the protein shake’s counterpart, which is the smoothie bowl. Smoothie bowls are just as delicious, fun and easy to make, and vastly nutritious. Plus, they give you the ability to be more experimental and expand your tastes even further. On this page I’m sharing a mean, green smoothie bowl recipe that’s completely vegan.
While shakes are good to drink on the go, smoothie bowls are better enjoyed when you have the time to sit down and dig in. Since you eat them with a spoon, you have the chance to make them a lot thicker and denser than a protein shake, so you can add a range of new ingredients. You want to experience a smoothie bowl in its own glory – not just feel as if you’re slurping a smoothie poured into a bowl, so knowing how to make it thick and creamy is the key.

Smoothie bowls are also a great way to make sure that you’re meeting your protein requirement, as you can easily add protein powder to any recipe to give it that extra bit of nutrition. You’re going to be able to get nutrients from the fruit and vegetables that appear in your recipes, but you can boost the health factor even further by adding in some protein powder.
Protein is our main source of energy, so we need it to be able to carry our daily lives. It also helps you stay feeling satisfied for longer and gives your athletic performance a boost, which is great if you’re looking to get in shape. If you don’t get enough of the nutrient, then you can be at risk for a range of different health issues, which range from the health of your hair suffering to over eating to compensate for the lack of protein. Not consuming enough protein and, therefore, not providing your system with enough energy means that your body will turn to using up your muscle mass as an energy source instead. This is definitely not what you want, especially if you’re looking to gain muscle, and it can be dangerous in the long run. Plus, too little protein is going to leave you feeling lethargic and weak.

Whey protein powder is the supplement that’s best absorbed by the body and is well-tolerated by most, so make sure you stock up before going to town and experimenting with those smoothie bowls.
This recipe in particular has been designed to ensure you have the most energy as possible to get you through whatever your day might entail. With lots of greens, berries, and clearly packed full of micro and macro nutrients, you’re going to be treating yourself and staying healthy at the same time.

Mean, Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe
For this bowl of smoothie goodness, you’ll need the following:
 1 scoop of vegan protein powder
 1 cup of flax milk or water
 1 ripe avocado
 1 ripe banana
 1 cup of frozen mixed berries
 2 handfuls of spinach
 1 handful of baby kale
 Ice (as needed)

Generally, you can blend all the ingredients in one go, but taking this step makes sure that your powder and milk is well combined and you’ll be sure to have a creamier smoothie bowl. Once that’s done, simply add
the rest of the ingredients, blend until smoothie, and you’re done! If you’d like it thicker, you can add ice until it’s your desired consistency.

Pour into the bowl of your choice and top with whatever you feel like – we recommended experimenting with different types of seeds and nuts, granola, or adding in some fresh berries too.
Dig in and enjoy!
