Restaurant De Klub is located at creative hub ‘Vechtclub’ in Utrecht. I must admit that it’s a bit out of the city center, but I’ll promise that you get a great experience in return for the detour. Restaurant de Klub is open for lunch and dinner and their menu changes every week. That’s right, every seven days the menu of De Klub changes.
De Klub in Utrecht is ran by Jasper (chef), Lisa (hostess) and Joost (host). They grow their own vegetables at the improvised herb garden at the parking lot in front of the restaurant. There’s also a terrace where you can enjoy the sun on warm days. Inside you see Scandinavian influences but the interior also has a cosy living-room feel to it,
The dishes at De Klub are based on the classic European kitchen with Asian and Scandinavian influences. There’s a new menu every week and they work with seasonal and regional products as much as possible.
They’re open for lunch and dinner.
On your plate you get dishes without any fuss, but with rich flavors. Just a few ingredients, prepared really well. The combinations of flavors and textures are well thought of. All the dishes felt like paintings to me, with thought-out compositions.
Vegetarians are also very well taken care of at Restaurant De Klub. On their menu are always two options for every course of which one is vegetarian. Even if you’re not a vegetarian you might want to consider going for the veggie option at De Klub, just because their vegetable based dishes are so tasty.
