De Groene Chef (The Green Chef) opened her doors in creative hub Bank15 in Tilburg last December. There’s also a Peruvian restaurant and a sandwich shop in Bank15, but de Groene Chef is by far my favorite. Alexandra, owner of de Groene Chef, and I have a lot in common! Just like all the recipes on my blog, everything on the menu of de Groene Chef is refined sugar free and vegetarian.
But there’s more! The Green Chef mostly cooks with organic product and she doesn’t use any animal products whatsoever. So everything on the menu is lactose-free and vegan. Many of the dishes are also gluten free. So whatever your diet or food allergies, you can go to De Groene Chef for a delicious healthy meal!
On the menu you’ll find all kinds of delicious healthy meals. These loaded tortilla chips for example. They’re made with 100% corn tortilla crisps, so this dish is gluten free! The nachos are topped with home made pico de gallo, kidney beans, avocado and raw vegetables.
You can also go for a sweet potato and carrot soup with ginger and coconut milk, a gluten free carrot cake oatmeal bowl or hummus topped with mushrooms served with sourdough bread.
For dinner you can go for a Buddha Bowl based on grains and topped with roasted and raw vegetables and multiple toppings. Or their Mexican rice dish with salsa, corn, kidney beans just to name a few options.
This Rainbow Salad is a good choice for either lunch or dinner. It’s a colorful meal-size salad with a variety of vegetables, chickpeas, dates and nuts served with a roasted bell pepper dressing.
If you’re with a group you can also go for the tasting platter that’s pictured on the top of this page. And for dessert you can get the Grand Dessert which includes a selection of their desserts and cakes (all vegan!).
