Oh August, what a wonderful month you have been. I’m going to share my personal highlights with you in this post from my trip to Croatia and Slovenia to the food tour that I organized and from my most popular Instagram picture to some food news from this month!

I got a delicious batch of Propercorn popcorn in the mail this month. I’ve been a fan of them for quite a while now, and although I’ve tried many flavors already there were some new ones for me in the package. The red bag has a more savory flavor with sundried tomatoes and Worcester sauce. The light brown one is my favorite; it’s peanut butter and almond flavored. Both flavors are suitable for vegans!
Do you already know Up&Go? This drinkable breakfast is very popular in Australia, and as of this month it’s also for sale in the Netherlands. They have 4 different flavors: vanilla, milk chocolate, banana & honey and Raspberry & Strawberry. I always take time for my breakfast but for my boyfriend Up&Go is ideal since he wants to get out of bed as late as possible on weekdays!
My most popular blogpost this month was about the Food Blogger Tour I organized in my hometown Tilburg. I invited 7 food bloggers to Tilburg and took them to my 7 favorite food spots. It was such a nice day and it was great to see all the pictures the girls posted on Instagram and the nice blog posts they’ve written! You can read the full article about the tour here.
Yesterday @travelgoodies.nl shared my recipe for Sushi Pie on her blog. It’s one of the most popular recipes on my blog and the DIY video on my YouTube channel has been watched more than 3.500 times. My most liked picture on Instagram this month was actually a ‘throwback’ picture. I posted the picture of this sushi pie that I made quite a while back (before I became a vegetarian obviously) because it was recently published in Dutch at travelgoodies.nl. It’s one of my most popular recipes on the blog (check it here) and the video tutorial is my most popular video on my YouTube channel.
Every month I’m looking forward to my Healthbox. Every month the box has a different content, but it’s always filled with products to support your health. This months edition was composed by Anouk Hoogendijk, a soccer player from the Dutch national team that just won the European Championship. There were so many nice things in this edition! The vegan and gluten free chocolate bars from Ananda are delicious. And the almond milk from Rude Health came in useful as I often use it for (vegan) baking! There was also a vegan energy bar from FITSHE in the Healthbox, I saw their bars on Instagram several times so I’m very curious how it’ll taste!
I didn’t have much time this month to develop new recipes as I was on vacation for a big part of it. But from the new recipes that I’ve uploaded in August, this naan bread pizza was the most popular. I guess I’m not the only one who likes easy recipes. Just a few ingredients and little work are needed for this vegetarian naan pizza.
And now it’s time for September, for going back to school and for days that are getting shorter. Luckily I already have my next trip planned! I’m going to Montenegro and Albania in Oktober!
