Did you already hear of the latest food trend Loaded Hummus? It became popular mid 2022 and I love it when a food trend is healthy for once. Loaded Hummus is when you spread out hummus on a plate and you top it with several ingredients to make it taste and look even better. On this page I’m sharing the recipe for homemade loaded hummus.
You can of course use store bought hummus to make it, but I think making your own hummus is so much tastier. It’s super easy to make your own hummus and it’s healthier as it doesn’t need any salt.

This loaded hummus looks great on the table when throwing a dinner party or having nibbles with friends. Extra benefit: it’s vegan and gluten-free. So if you’ve got friends coming over with allergies or dietary restrictions, this is a great party snack!
Recipe Loaded Hummus
Ingredients (for 1 plate):
1 can (400 grams) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon tahini
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon of water
1 clove garlic, crushed
For the toppings:
Black and green olives
Cherry tomatoes
Mint leaves
Za’atar herbs
Extra olive oil
Mix the chickpeas, olive oil, tahini, lime juice, water and garlic in a blender until smooth.
Spread the hummus out on a plate.
Top with the ingredients of your choice.
