Most people know tahini as an ingredient to make hummus. But did you know that you can use tahini for many other things? Tahini, sometimes spelled tahin, is a sesame paste that is very popular in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries. Some of you may have bought a jar of tahini to make hummus yourself and now you’ve got a lot of tahini left. On this page I’m showing you all kinds of recipes that you can make with tahini. From breakfast to dinner, I’m sharing 7 recipes with tahini.
Hummus
I love hummus! It’s easy to make, healthy and very tasty. Just put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. You can even freeze it for later! Store-bought varieties often contain sugar and preservatives, while it’s so easy to make your own healthy version!

Cauliflower Tahini
I created a vegan side dish with tahini and cauliflower. Your mother might have overcooked cauliflower until there was nothing left but a tasteless and textureless vegetable. But if you roast cauliflower in the oven it gets a nice crispy bite to it and you keep more flavor and more vitamins.
I used store bought tahini for this recipe, but you can also make your own tahini. Just roast 140 grams (1cup) of sesame seeds in a pan and add them with 2-4 tablespoons of (olive) oil to a food processor. Mix until smooth.

Spaghetti with Tahini
This recipe for spaghetti with spinach and tahini isn’t only vegetarian, it’s suitable for vegans too! You only need to check if the pasta doesn’t contain egg if you’re making it. I used whole wheat spaghetti as it’s much better for your health than white spaghetti. Your dinner is done in 10 minutes and super easy to make.

Tahini Rolls
These sweet tahini rolls are like cinnamon rolls but then with tahini instead of cinnamon. These sweet tahini rolls, called Kubez el Tahineh in Palestinian, are a great sweet snack or dessert.
You can find the written recipe here and at the bottom of that page you’ll find my YouTube video, showing you how to make these tahini rolls.
Tahini Cheesecake
Did you know that you can even make cheesecakes with tahini? These banana-tahini-chocolate ‘cheesecakes’ might be the healthiest and the tastiest cheesecakes you’ve ever eaten!
They are vegan, raw, sugar free, fat free, gluten free, wheat free and dairy free. Can you believe it?
These 4 layer cheesecakes have a date/hazelnut base, a banana layer, a tahini layer and a chocolate layer.

Sabich
Did you ever hear of Sabich? Sabich is an Israeli pita sandwich. It’s filled with hummus, aubergine and egg. Especially since my trips to Israel, I love Israeli food. It’s always super tasty, often vegetarian and mostly healthy. This Sabich is exactly that: vegetarian, tasty and pretty healthy. In Israel Sabich is often sold at street stalls as a ‘fast-food’ take away dish. But you can also easily make it yourself.
On this page I’m sharing the recipe to make Sabich, Israeli Pita Sandwich.
Tahini Smoothie Bowl
And you can even have tahini for breakfast! This might be the most surprising dish on this page with tahini recipes.
I made a chocolate smoothie bowl by mixing soy yogurt with frozen bananas and cacao powder. I drizzled some tahini over it. I think the combination of chocolate and tahini is great! I topped my smoothie bowl with baked banana, dark chocolate and grated coconut.
