Focaccia is an Italian bread, it’s flat and oven-baked. The dough might remind you of a pizza base and you can taste that it requires olive oil to make it. Focaccia is very flavorful and great as a starter or as a snack that you can serve with spreads.
If you live in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria or the United Kingdom; you’re lucky! There’s now a very easy way to make your own Focaccia. All you need is water, olive oil and the Make your Own Focaccia kit from the Oil and Vinegar webshop. Would you like to make your own focaccia? You can now win a Focaccia kit on my website!
Making your own focaccia with the Focaccia Kit is very easy. All you have to do is add 220ml of water, knead it and add 10ml of olive oil. You knead it to a ball and let it rise. Then you shape it the way you want. I placed it in an oven-proof pan. You can keep the focaccia natural as it is, or season it with the seasoning mix that is included. Let is rise again. Make holes in the dough with your finger tips and bake it for 15 to 20 minutes.
The Focaccia Kit is a great thing to have in your cupboard so you can make it when friends are coming over. You’ll always have olive oil and water ready to make it on a day that suits you. I’m sure your guests will be impressed if you serve your home-made focaccia.
