When I shared my first waffle recipe a few weeks ago (for gluten-free chickpea flour waffles), I already warned you that I’d be sharing more waffle recipes here! I just got my waffle iron so now I want to make all kinds of variations. This time I made chocolate waffles, because everything tastes better with chocolate. And it’s not often that you can have chocolate for breakfast! And these waffles are quite healthy and free of sugars or any other sweeteners! On this page I’m sharing the recipe of these sugar-free chocolate waffles.
These healthy chocolate waffles are great for breakfast or lunch. It’s a pretty good start of the day, don’t you think? It almost feels like you’re eating dessert. But unlike most desserts, these chocolate waffles are completely sugar free! And there are no added sweeteners either, so also no hidden sugars.
Recipe sugar-free chocolate waffles
Ingredients (for 1 person):
3 tablespoons flour
2 eggs
5 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
Waffle iron
Coconut oil for greasing
Warm your waffle iron. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl with a mixer. Grease the waffle iron with some coconut oil. Use a soup spoon to scoop some batter on the waffle iron. You can make around 4 waffles with this recipe.
I topped mine with banana, caramel paste, cacao nibs and stracciatella Skyr.
Want to eat waffles for dinner? You can with Fawaffles, a combination of falafel and waffles.
