When you think of the restaurant of the Hilton Hotel you might think of very fancy and expensive dinners. While I do think the dishes are quit fancy, Restaurant Roots at the Hilton Hotel in Rotterdam is very reasonably priced. For only 37 euros you’ve got a three-course menu and for just another 18 euros more you’ll have a wine pairing.
The menu changes every season so I’d like to go there every 3 months or so to try their latest menu. At the moment they have their Autumn menu until Christmas.
If you don’t like 3 courses, you can also order a la carte. A main dish is around 20 euros. And for that price you’ll get a beautiful dish with well well-balanced flavors.
I went for a three-course vegetarian menu. As a starter I had fregola pasta with parsnip. It was combined with hazelnut butter, capers and lemon.
As a main dish I had a creamy carrot risotto served with several vegetables like cantharel and pumpkin.
The dessert was absolutely delicious. It was a millionaire’s shortbread with homemade vanilla ice cream and pear.
So don’t be held back by the fancy hotel. Restaurant Roots is the perfect location for a night out with wonderful dishes for a very reasonable price!
