Te Koop in Tilburg

Te Koop in Tilburg (for Sale in Tilburg) is a high quality restaurant just outside the city center of Tilburg on the other side of the Ringbaan Oost. Where most better restaurants can feel a bit old fashioned, Te Koop in Tilburg has a very warm interior. They have an old wooden floor and cosy illumination. There are copper lamps above the tables, big green plants on several spots and the wooden tables don’t have any table linnen. This gives you the feeling you’re at a dinner table at a friends house. Something I personally really like as it makes you feel very comfortable.
Everything in the restaurant is for sale (hence the name), from the tables you eat from to the decoration in the restaurant.

I have to admit that if I didn’t see pictures of the food beforehand, I probably would never have gone there. I thought the name was a bit weird and the location a bit far off. But when I saw some beautiful dishes on Instagram I got curious. Te Koop didn’t disappoint me. The dishes were made as pieces of art with different colors and textures. And they didn’t only look good, they tasted great too!

At Te Koop in Tilburg you can choose for a 2, 3 or 4 courses surprise menu or you can eat a-la-carte. The dishes pictured above were from their a-la-carte menu from winter 2017/2018. You see a vegetarian tomato tartar which I had and the salmon with tandoori, fermented garlic and potato cream that my partner had. He had codfish as a main and I had a delicious tagliatelle with truffle.

If you leave some room for dessert you’ll get one of their beauties like different structures of passion fruit with white chocolate ice cream and Drambuie. Or nougatine parfait with dark chocolate and salted caramel.
