Baked Goat Cheese

Baked Goat Cheese is my latest addiction. I figured: if we can make baked feta, we can also make baked goat cheese! This vegetarian recipe is super easy to make and so tasteful! You can use this baked goat cheese recipe as a snack with some bread or crackers, but also for dinner if you combine it with pasta.

Ingredients Baked Goat Cheese

You’ll need tomato sauce as the base for this recipe. You can use any kind of tomato sauce you like. Go for a spicy tomato sauce or for one with basil for example. I used a tomato sauce with vegetables (Verdura sauce) as I think it’s always a good idea to add some extra veggies to your dish. Especially if they’re hidden in sauce and no one will even notice that they’re there.

The main ingredient of this dish is, of course, goat cheese. Even though there are several goat cheese variations available, like herbed goat cheese or goat cheese with honey, I’d recommend you buy plain goat cheese. Most goat cheese is sold in round slices, that’s fine. It doesn’t matter what shape it is as you’ll kneed it with your hands anyway.

Baked Goat Cheese for dinner

If you just serve this baked goat cheese in a bowl, you can serve it with some bread or crackers, like a dip. But you can also make this baked goat cheese as a main dish. It’s great with any kind of pasta. I love Orzo (sometimes called Risoni) as it really soaks up the goat cheese and the tomato sauce. But any kind of pasta will do. Just prepare the pasta as stated on the package and stir in the baked goat cheese when it’s done.
