These Christmas lights cookies make such a festive snack for the holiday season! Last year I made a Christmas lights cake, with one big string of lights. This year I decided to make individual cookies, each with their own string of colorful Christmas lights.
It looks so festive to serve these cookies on a plate during the holidays. You can just put them on the table and everyone can just grab one whenever they like.
I made a super easy version for this cookies as I used store bought cookies, but you can of course also make the cookies from scratch. It’s a great activity to do with your kids in the Christmas holiday. But even if you go for my easy way with storebought cookies, I’m sure that your kids will love helping you decorate them.
I used whole wheat cookies for this recipe, to at least get a little bit of fiber whilst eating them. But you can of course choose any cookies that you like.
For the frosting I used a storebought vanilla frosting that you only needed to heat up in the microwave. I already told you that I was going for an easy version right? But you can of course also make your own frosting. The easiest way to do that is to mix powdered sugar with a little bit of water.

Christmas Lights Cookies
Ingredients:
cookies of your choice
vanilla frosting
M&M’s
chocolate decoration marker
Spread out the cookies on a cutting board. Prepare the vanilla frosting as stated on the package. Drop 1/2 a tablespoon of frosting on each cookie. Let it set for a few minutes.
Use a chocolate decoration marker to draw two lines over the cookies, as the string.
Cut the M&M’s in half and divide them over the string as the lights.
