Recipe: Chocolate hummus

I love food mash-ups where you combine two different food items to create one new thing. I made sushi pizza for example or falafel burgers, I even made falafel waffles! This time I combined two things that I love a lot: chocolate and hummus.
I’ve often made hummus before and I’ve created all kinds of varieties, with red beets or green peas for example. All the varieties I made so far where all a savory snack, great as a starter or as one of the dishes when you’re hosting a healthy party.
This chocolate hummus is more a dessert than a starter. It’s like a healthier version of chocolate fondue for dessert!

The great thing about this chocolate hummus is that it has hidden vegetables inside! No one will realize that they’re actually working on their daily veggie intake while they nibble on a piece of apple dipped in chocolate hummus. Below is the written recipe and a food video showing you how easy it is.

Ingredients:
1 can chickpeas (410 grams/ 2 cups)
3 table spoons cacao powder
2 table spoons peanut butter
1 tbs maple syrup
1 ts vanilla extract

Wash and rinse the chickpeas. Put all ingredients in a foodprocessor and mix until smooth.

Serve the chocolate hummus with apple slices and strawberries (or other fruit of your choice)
