These bars are perfect if you’re looking for a high protein snack that’s plant-based. On this page I’m sharing the recipe of these protein bars, and I can tell you that they’re super easy to make!
I love making vegan protein bars in the weekend so that I’ve got a healthy snack to take with me every day of the week that following week. And this protein bar really feels like a treat. I mean, peanut butter and chocolate is an award-winning combination. And since there’s no sugar in these bars, you can eat them guilt-free too!
I used the vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free Vanilla protein powder of Garden of Life for these protein bars. Because I love their proteins and other supplements so much, I’m giving you a 20% discount on everything in the Garden of Life webshop if you use code ANNE20.
Recipe vegan peanut butter protein bars
Ingredients (12 pieces):
250 grams peanut butter
1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave syrup
45 grams rolled oats
1 scoop (30 grams) vegan vanilla protein powder
135 grams dark chocolate
1 tablespoon coconut oil
Mix the first 4 ingredients in a food processor.
Line a small baking tray with parchment paper. Put the peanut butter mixture in the oven tray and press it down with the back of a spoon.
Bring water to a boil and put a small bowl above it so that you can melt the chocolate and the coconut oil au-bain-marie.
Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter mixture. Put in the fridge for at least an hour to set. Take it out 10 minutes before serving to cut it in 12 pieces. After cutting you can save it in an air-tight container in the fridge again.
