There’s a new burger in town! A couple of weeks ago Artisani Burgers opened their doors at the Kinkerstraat. Located in my neighborhood, Amsterdam West, I really wanted to try it out. It’s a small but nice restaurant where they make all burgers on a charcoal grill.
My boyfriend tried the Artisani Burger with a 200 gram (7oz) burger patty, a brioche bun and their secret recipe Artisani sauce. Artisani Burgers is quite unique as it is the only burger bar in the Netherlands that serves halal meat. Making its clientele as varied as the neighborhood itself.
I went for the vegetarian option: a burger with vegetables and Cypriotic style halloumi cheese. Halloumi is not very well-known in the Netherlands but it’s my favorite cheese (check my halloumi salad recipe here).
We shared a portion of cajun spiced fries, and got some extra Artisani Sauce (besides the ketchup and mayonaise) to go with it.
They open at noon, so you can also go there for your lunch burger-cravings. And on Friday and Saturday they’re open until midnight, so everyone going home after having drinks with friends can get their burger fix.
Artisani also serves great home made lemonades and I’ll have to come back to try one of their cakes!
