I had brunch at breakfast and lunch spot Dragon’s Delight in Amsterdam. This restaurant in De Pijp neighborhood, near the Amstel river is open 7 days a week from 8am to 3:30pm to serve you the best English style brunch dishes. The staff is super friendly and I’m sure you won’t leave hungry or with a sugar shortage if you had brunch at Dragon’s Delight.
Dragon’s Delight opened up in 2015 when British born Saima Awan opened up Dragon’s Delight on the corner of the Tolstraat and the Amsteldijk. She wanted to bring English breakfast dishes to Amsterdam. On the menu you can find all kinds of English and American breakfast staples like pancakes or a traditional English breakfast. The warm scone with clotted cream and jam alone is already a great reason to visit Dragon’s Delight.
Besides food, they also got coffees, teas and all kind of lattes like chai latte, matcha latte or butterscotch latte. They have 3 smoothies and 4 fruit juices to make you feel less guilty about digging in to their pancakes.
The menu of Dragon’s Delight is divided in 2 parts; a savory part and a sweet part. On the savory part you’ll find dishes like homemade granola, spicy avocado toast and omelets. They also do the traditional English breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, beans and black pudding.
On the sweet part of the menu you’ll find pancakes and the French toast with fresh fruit pictured above.
For the pancakes at Dragon’s Delight in Amsterdam you can choose if you want 1, 2, 3 or 4 pancakes. I went for 3 assuming that they were small American sized pancakes, but they’re actually quite big!
You can also choose your toppings; from bacon to maple syrup and from salted caramel to berrie coulis. I went for chocolate sauce, fresh fruit and chocolate chips.
