After my trip to New Zealand, I went to Australia for 5 weeks to visit the east coast. I started in Cairns in the north and ended in Sydney. On this page I’m showing you the highlights of my trip to Australia with some of the pictures I took.
Cairns
The highlight of my time in Cairns was my diving excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. I went with Cairns Dive and it was truly magnificent. I saw so many tropical fishes and even sea turtles and a shark!
Magnetic Island

After Cairns I travelled to Magnetic Island to do some more diving. The visibility wasn’t as nice as at the Great Barrier Reef, but I saw many rays here. The atmosphere was really laid back so I also spend a lot of time chilling and reading in a hammock.
Whitsunday Islands

I went on a 3 day boat trip to the Whitsunday Islands. It was beautiful! We went snorkeling, visited beaches and had great food on board.
Fraser Island

This picture was taken on Fraser Island, the biggest sand island in the world. Because it’s all sand, you need a 4WD to get around. You’ll probably see dingos when you’re there and you should definitely check the Pinnacles. These sand dunes consist of 72 different colors!
Noosa

Noosa is a great place to get some surfing lessons, even if you’ve never surfed before (like me). The waves are gentle so it’s ideal for beginners. I had a lot of fun!
Australia Zoo

This was definitely the highlight of my trip! I hugged a koala! It was so cute! You can hug koalas at Steve Irwin’s zoo called Australia Zoo.
Sydney
I stopped in some places in between including Brisbane before I arrived at my final destination: Sydney!

The icon of Sydney: The Oprah House.

Sydney has several beaches, and some of them are linked with a walking path like here at Bondi Beach.

Just a short drive from Sydney you’ll find these Blue Mountains, a beautiful area that’s really worth visiting.
