Bliss Balls

Bliss Balls is a collective name for ball-shaped snacks that are generally healthy. The idea of Bliss Balls is that they’re made of natural ingredients and don’t contain sugar or dairy. This makes Bliss Balls a nutritious, healthy snack, also suitable for vegans. Bliss Balls are often made with dates, nuts and grated coconut. But they come in all kinds of varieties. Because the Carrot Cake balls on this page have a focus on being high in protein, I named them Carrot Cake Protein Balls.

Healthy Carrot Cake

I love the flavor of Carrot Cake. And it’s so easy to make a healthier version of carrot cake, as the main ingredient (carrots) is already healthy. One of the first recipes I’ve shared on my blog was one for a healthy carrot cake. And I’ve also shared a recipe for a carrot cake mug cake in the beginner days of my blog. A few years later I created an upgrade of my first healthy carrot cake and I made a sugar free carrot bundt cake with teff flour.
This time I made Carrot Cake protein balls. They’re a perfect snack for after a work-out!

Recipe Carrot Cake Protein Balls

Ingredients:
100 grams grated carrots (about 2 big carrots)
100 dates, pitted and finely chopped
200 grams unsalted cashews
50 grams raisins
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Grated coconut (optionally)

Put all the ingredients in a food processor and mix until you’ve got a smooth dow. Roll the dough into 16 balls. You can make your hands a bit wet to smoothen this process. Optionally you can roll the carrot cake balls in the grated coconut. I like to do this step with half of the balls.

Keep the carrot cake bliss balls in an airtight container. I often take 3 or 4 with me to work or on a trip as a healthy snack.
