I love going out for tapas in Spain, but in the Netherlands you often get small bites that aren’t Spanish at all. Luckily I have Doncurado in my hometown Tilburg. At Doncurado they love Spanish food and they serve authentic Spanish tapas. They import several products from Spain and all the dishes are prepared in their own kitchen. On the menu you’ll find cold tapas, warm tapas, tapas deluxe and side dishes. They also have Platos with for example charcuterie or different pintxos.
Every region in Spain has its own specialities, to honor this they pick one of the regions every two months at Doncurado and serve tapas from this area. Last time I was there it was Cantabria, an area in the north of Spain. From April to June they’ll sever dishes from Aragon and from July to September they’ll take you on a culinary trip to the Canary Islands. At the start of each new area they organize a tasting evening so that the guests can give feedback.
They also have several vegetarian dishes, like this Tumbet with aubergine, courgette and Mahon cheese. And of course Patatas Bravas (pictured above).
You might want to leave some room for dessert! They have cheesecake with oranges, Crema Catalana (vanilla cream with cinamon and caramel) and this Tarta de Santiago (almond cake) served with ice cream pictured above.
There’s also a Doncurado restaurant in Den Bosch and you can get your tapas from Doncurado delivered with Deliveroo.
