The best restaurants and bars in El Poble Sec, Barcelona

El Poble Sec is a small neighborhood in the South West corner of Barcelona, Spain. It’s south of Avenue de Paral-lel and a big part of the neighborhood is the hill Montjuic. But in this small part of the city you can find a few really nice restaurants. On this page I’m sharing my favorite restaurants in Poble Sec in Barcelona.

Billy Brunch and Lounge

There are several Billy restaurants in the city. The one in Poble Sec is called Billy Brunch and Lounge. They’re open every day from 9:30 am to 5pm and serve great breakfasts and lunches. I love avocado toast so for me that’s my favorite dish on the Billy Brunch menu!

Pincho J

Carrer de Blai is a pedestrian street that lines many bars, restaurants and terraces. Especially on warm days, it’s a great street to stroll around and sit down at one of the many bars. Carrer de Blai in Poble Sec is often called ‘Pincho Street’ as there are many pincho restaurants lined up here. A really nice one is Pincho J, on the corner of Carrer de Blai and Carrer de Tapioles. On the bar you can see all the different pinchos they have and you can write down the numbers of the ones you want to order on a small piece of paper.

Bar La Bota

Another great Pincho Bar in Poble Sec is La Bota Bar. This restaurant has a colorful interior and is decorated with many boots (hence the name). You can pick up the pinchos from the counter yourself and just stave the picks so that the staff knows how much to charge you afterwards. Besides the pinchos, they also have a menu with tapas and other dishes that you can order.

Boulangerie Mayer

Boulangerie Mayer has six locations in Barcelona, one of them is in El Poble-Sec. This bakery with mostly French boulangerie products makes everything by hand. They maintain the French ‘savoir-faire’ fusion with international inspiration. All their products are free of additives, food coloring and palm oil. Their croissants are one of the best in Barcelona!
