3 Best Hotels in Riga

Looking for a nice hotel in Riga, the capital city of Latvia? I’ve got you covered! In this blog post I’m sharing my favorite hotels in Riga. In my opinion these are the 3 best hotels in Riga. So if you want to be sure your bed is comfortable, your wifi signal is strong and your breakfast buffet is delicious; book your room at one of these three hotels in Riga!

For Design Lovers:
Clarion Collection Valdemars

The Clarion Collection Valdemars hotel is a beautiful 4 star hotel located in the middle of the Riga’s Art Nouveau district. Within a short walking distance of the hotel you’ll find beautiful Art Nouveau architecture and the hotel itself is also one of them. The rooms at the Clarion Collection Valdemars hotel are nicely decorated with hints of red and a very comfortable bed. We had a view of the hotel patio from our room. The great grandfather of the owner acquired the property in 1901 but the family was forced to free to Sweden during World War II. When the family returned to Latvia the property was confiscated by the Soviet Union but after the liberation in 1991, the building was returned to the family. They decided to restore the property and turn it into a hotel. The Clarion Collection Valdemars hotel opened up in 2006.

For Spa Lovers:
Wellton Riga Hotel & Spa

Thera are two Wellton hotels in Riga’s Old Town and both have a luxury spa in the building. We stayed at Wellton Riga Hotel & Spa, you also have Wellton Centum Hotel & Spa and they’ll soon open up Wellton Riverside Spa. The Wellton Riga Hotel & Spa is a 4 star hotel that opened up in 2015. The construction of the hotel costed more than 12 million euro’s, so you can imagine how luxurious it is! The Wellton Hotel has a delicious breakfast buffet, free reliable wifi and spacious parking nearby. There’s also a restaurant inside the hotel called TAPAS TAPAS, I don’t think I’ll have to explain what you can eat there.

For Budget Travellers:
Ibis Riga Centre Hotel

When you’re traveling on a budget, you can still get a good hotel in Riga. The rooms at Ibis Riga Centre Hotel are really affordable, especially if you consider the great location. You’ll sleep at the border of Old Town with all top sights of Riga close-by. The hotel is located close to Riga’s train station which could be very convenient if you’re traveling by train. There’s wifi, air-conditioning and a 24hour reception.
