Anne&Max was one of my favorite places when I lived in Amsterdam, and not only because of the name. Although I have to admit that I’m still looking for a Max that wants to join me for coffee there just because it would be fun. Why I loved going there is because it has a nice living room feel to it. You can enjoy your cup of coffee, breakfast or lunch in a relaxed atmosphere of a restaurant that looks like your dream living room interior. After Amsterdam they also opened up restaurants in Alkmaar, The Hague, Utrecht, Haarlem, Arnhem and Leiden.
Last month Anne&Max opened up their first restaurant in Rotterdam!
You can now visit Anne&Max in Rotterdam on the Korte Hoogstraat. It’s close to the Markthal and the shopping area. When it’s sunny you can sit outside and on rainy days you can go to the second floor to enjoy a cup of coffee with a view on the canal.
At Anne&Max they serve fresh and homemade dishes with as many organic products as possible. Their sandwiches are made with organic sourdough bread and they get their cheese from an organic family-owned cheese farm in Kinderdijk.
Their breakfast dishes are available throughout the day and have many vegetarian options like banana bread with clotted cream and fresh fruit and Greek yogurt with organic granola. They also have a delicious vegan breakfast dish: oatmeal with almond milk, chai, dates and fruit.
For lunch they have sandwiches, paninis and salads. My favorite is the Veggie Club with homemade beetroot hummus, organic goat cheese and fresh spinach.
If you feel like something sweet with your coffee they also have many delicious options. What do you think about white chocolate cake with passion fruit coulis or traditional apple pie for example? They also have a vegan blackberry and coconut pie!
