Best Hotel in Hamburg: Tortue

My favorite hotel in Hamburg is Tortue. This beautiful hotel is luxurious, wonderful designed and very comfortable. In my opinion Tortue is the best hotel in Hamburg. Hotel Tortue is located in the Stadthöfe neighborhood, a nice area with beautiful buildings and many shops and restaurants. Tortue is housed in the former Ministry for Urban Development building, but they did a great job renovating and redesigning it to a beautiful 126 rooms hotel.
Tortue Hamburg has a stately historical façade, before you enter you’ll walk in beautifully illuminated alley with a statue of a turtle. It’s an appetizer for what’s waiting for you inside.

The rooms at Tortue Hamburg are spacious and very comfortable. My room had a soft dark blue carpet, a sofa, a big bed, a desk and a closet. Every room has high ceilings and extra long beds. There’s free wifi, free coffee and tea and a free minibar with softdrinks. Each room comes with a ‘suitepad’, on this electronic device you can find all the information about your stay in the hotel. The light can be dimmed in small steps, so you can illuminate your room exactly how you’d want it.

The bathroom in all the rooms is very spacious and I loved how the designed it. With white marble tiles, black accents and all kinds of cosmetic products. No need to bring your own bodylotion to Hamburg, Tortue Hotel has got it for you.

If you thought the room would be the best thing about Tortue, you haven’t seen the breakfast yet! For a set price, you can order as many dishes as you’d like from the menu ánd take what you wish from the buffet. On the menu you’ll find dishes like French toast, granola with skyr, chia pudding or avocado toast. From the buffet you can take your choice of bread specialties, fresh fruit and even macarons!

After a good breakfast like this, it’s time to visit the iconic Elbphilharmonie building!
