During my trip to Northern England I stayed at the King Street Townhouse Hotel in Manchester. I absolutely recommend it if you’re looking for a hotel in Manchester. It’s centrally located, has beautiful rooms and the biggest plus: it has a swimming pool with an amazing view. On this page I’m telling you all about the King Street Townhouse Hotel in Manchester.
The King Street Townhouse Hotel is located in the center of Manchester, right next to the Town Hall, in an Italian renaissance building. They call it ‘a small adaption of a grand hotel’ and I think that’s a suiting title. It feels comfy and homey like a boutique hotel but also has the class and style of a grand hotel. When you enter the hotel, you already feel at ease straight away. The lobby is beautifully designed and the receptionists are super friendly.
All the rooms at King Street Townhouse Hotel are individually designed, so they’ve all got their own look and feel. They have comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. There’s airconditioning and free wifi. I had a desk with a radio and there’s a coffee machine in every room.
The bathrooms have a walk-inn rain shower, soft towels and ESPA toiletries. You feel straight at home, but you also feel very pampered.
Speaking of pampering… the King Street Townhouse Hotel has a spa pool on the 7th floor. You can relax in the warm water while you enjoy beautiful views of the clocktower of the Manchester Town Hall. There’s also a steam room and a relaxation room. And as children aren’t allowed; you’re certain that it’s indeed relaxing. The spa pool and the relaxation room are open to residents of the hotel. You can also book an extra treatment at the spa.
The hotel also has a rooftop lounge where you can enjoy a drink and some nibbles. It’s south facing, so you can catch the sun the whole day. And while you enjoy your cocktail you’ll have beautiful views of the Town Hall and many other buildings of Manchester. There’s also an indoor bar at this level and when it’s cold outside the terrace is covered and heated.
Every morning you can enjoy breakfast at the King Street Tavern. The tavern is also open for non-hotel guests. You get unlimited coffee, tea, yogurt, granola and fresh fruit and you can choose your favorite item from the breakfast menu. Pictured you see the sourdough toast with crushed avocado and poached eggs.
You can also reserve an afternoon tea at the tavern.
The King Street Townhouse Hotel is part of the Eclectic Hotel Collection, that also has the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester.
