If you’re ever in Guatemala you should definitely go to Tikal. But also if you’re in Mexico or Belize it’s worth taking a day to explore the Maya ruins of Tikal. Tikal is a 1 hour drive from Flores, and many organizations offer day tours from Flores or San Ignacio and Belize city.
