Jordan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and I absolutely recommend it as a travel destination. And one of the most beautiful places in Jordan is the Dead Sea. You can visit the Dead Sea from the Israeli and the Jordan side. The Dead Sea is a unique sea which lies 400m (1,312 ft.) below sea level. It’s actually the lowest point on the face of the earth. The dead sea is very high in salt and minerals and it is said to do wonders for your skin. So when you’re there, grab a bit of mud from the Dead Sea and cover your body with it. Once it has dried, you can wash it off by bathing in the Dead Sea. Because the water is so incredibly high in salt, you’ll float naturally.
The Crowne Plaza Dead Sea Resort
The Crowne Plaza Dead Sea Resort is a beautiful five star hotel resort that is located directly at the Dead Sea. The rooms are divided over several smaller buildings, so even though it’s a big hotel with over 400 rooms you don’t have the feeling of staying in a massive resort.
In the interior design of the rooms you’ll see dark wood and sand colors, reflecting the tones of the dessert. The rooms have a private balcony with either pool, mountain or sea views.
All rooms have free wifi.
There’s also a spa and fitness room.
The Dead Sea and Swimming Pools
The Crowne Plaza resort has its own private beach at the Dead Sea with white sand. You can take the elevator down from the resort to the beach. Here you can cover yourself with the mud and rince it off, float int the Dead Sea or lay on a beach bed to soak up some sun.
But besides being the private beach, the also have a big swimming pool in the middle of the resort. It’s no less than 5,5000 square meters and lined with palm trees. All around the large pool are sun beds and you get free clean beach towels and cold water. There’s a separate small bath for the kids to play in.
And there’s more. The Crowne Plaza Resort also has an infinity pool overlooking the Dead Sea. This pool is for adults only and also has its own bar.
There’s also an indoor pool available for if you want to get out of the sun for a bit.
Restaurants at the Crowne Plaza
The Crowne Plaza Dead Sea Resort has several restaurants. There are two big buffet style restaurants that are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Besides that they have the Burj Al Hamam restaurant that serves Lebanese cuisine.
And there are several bars at the resort where you can have a refreshing drink. Like the Rabbel lobby bar and the outdoor bar at the Promenade.
