The best vegetarian friendly restaurants and bars in Tuscany

On this page I’m sharing the best vegetarian friendly restaurants and bars in Tuscany. From artisan bakeries, to secret cocktail bars and from brunch goals to hip restaurants where the locals go as well. Most of these vegetarian friendly restaurants and bars are located in Florence, but I’ve also got tips for Pisa and Siena. All restaurants and bars on this page have good vegetarian options, but they’re also worth the visit for other reasons like their nice location or good vibe.

Rooster Café Firenze

If you’re looking for a relaxed brunch spot in Florence, Rooster Café is your place. The menu has something for everyone, but I especially loved the avocado toast with poached eggs. It’s fresh, colorful, and very Instagrammable! The atmosphere is casual and international, so you’ll feel right at home whether you’re visiting or living in Florence.

PRAE

PRAE is one of my favorite places for a light and healthy breakfast or lunch. You can eat in or take it with you for a picnic in the park. They have vegetarian-friendly bowls, sandwiches, and smoothies. Everything is made with love, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Perfect if you’re on the go but still want to eat well.

S.forno

This artisan bakery is a hidden gem. S.forno feels like stepping into the past, with its rustic decor and traditional recipes. They bake fresh focaccia, breads, and sweet pastries every day. They are almost all vegetarian, and it’s a lovely spot to take a break from exploring Florence’s busy streets

Babae

Babae is one of the best vegetarian friendly restaurants in Tuscany. It’s a cozy, modern restaurant that’s perfect for dinner. They have a good wine list including some original orange wines, and the food is creative without being too fancy. My top pick here is the cauliflower steak — it’s full of flavor and vegan-friendly too. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, ideal for a relaxed evening out.

Trattoria da Chef Enrico

In the heart of Florence, this trattoria is a great mix of traditional and modern. It’s always buzzing with locals and tourists, which is a good sign! The Cappallecia alla crema is a must-try — a rich and creamy vegetarian pasta dish that you’ll dream about long after your trip.

Rivarno Café Duomo

Located close to the Duomo, this café used to be an old pharmacy, and the interior is stunning. Think green wooden cabinets, vintage details, and a calm vibe. They serve delicious lunch dishes like Pinsa and pasta, all with good vegetarian options. It’s a nice place to escape the crowds and still stay central.

Rasputin

Okay, this one is not about food, but I had to include it! Rasputin is a speakeasy cocktail bar hidden behind an unmarked door in the Oltrarno neighborhood. The drinks at this secret cocktail bar are unique and beautifully made. It’s the perfect spot for a special night out after dinner. Just remember to make a reservation!

Panini Il Cencio, Siena

Right on the famous Piazza del Campo in Siena, you’ll find this small sandwich shop. They make fresh panini with all kinds of fillings, including great vegetarian choices like grilled veggies or local cheeses. It’s quick, tasty, and you get to enjoy your lunch with an amazing view from their balcony or if you sit down on the square to eat it.

Leonardo Café, Pisa

In Pisa, I recommend Leonardo Café for a relaxed lunch or coffee break. The interior is full of art and cool details, and the terrace is on a lively square that’s perfect for people watching. They have vegetarian-friendly options and good coffee too!

Pizzium

Pizzium has locations all over Italy, but I tried it in Florence and loved it. The pizzas have thin, crispy crusts, and you can easily choose vegetarian toppings like burrata, mushrooms, or truffle. It’s casual, quick, and always tasty.

More Vegetarian Friendly Spots in Florence

Here are a few more vegetarian or vegan places in Florence that are also worth a visit:

Loggia Roof Bar
If you’re in the mood for a drink with a view, Loggia Roof Bar is the place to be. Located on top of the beautiful Hotel Palazzo Guadagni in Florence, this rooftop bar offers amazing views over the city, especially at sunset. It’s a great spot for a vegetarian aperitivo, with small bites like olives, bruschetta, and cheese platters.

#Raw – A modern and mostly vegan café with smoothie bowls, avocado toast, and homemade desserts. It’s colorful, healthy, and perfect for a light lunch or snack.

Libreria Brac – A beautiful mix of bookstore and vegetarian restaurant. The atmosphere is calm and creative, and the food is fresh and flavorful. It’s a hidden gem just a few minutes from the Duomo.
