Hurray! I’ve got my own Vegetarian Food Tour in Tilburg! From now on everyone can book my Vega Foodie Tour and discover the great vegetarian food that my hometown Tilburg has to offer. The Vega Foodie Tour is an arrangement that you can book at Ticket to Tilburg. It’s a walk with four stops at restaurants in Tilburg. At every restaurant you get a delicious dish. Of course all the dishes are vegetarian. I’m super excited that everyone can now discover how good vegetarian food can be and what a couple of my favorite spots in Tilburg are.

The restaurants of the tour are located in the Spoorzone, the city center and the Piushaven. You can do the tour by foot, with your own bike or with a OV bike that you can rent at the train station. You can book the Vega Foodie Tour up to 24 hours in advance and you can do it whenever you want. The tour is bookable from Tuesday to Sunday and you can decide your own starting time. I recommend that you start early as the tour will take you a full evening to finish. I think 5pm is the perfect starting time.
You don’t have to with a big group, you can also book the tour for just 2 people. It’s a super nice date of course, but also great to do with a group of friends. It’s a complete night out and much more original than a regular 3 course menu at a restaurant.

Below I’m telling you more about the place you’ll go to with my Vega Foodie Tour. The pictures are as illustration, because all restaurants have a menu that changes regularly. Which dishes you’ll get exactly is always a surprise. Two things are for certain: it’s vegetarian and it’s super tasty. Oh and the dessert is also known; I can’t withhold the best chocolate cake of Tilburg from you of course.

1 Doloris

You’ll start the Vega Foodie Tour at Doloris. This rooftop bar is located close to the central train station from Tilburg so it’s a great starting point for everyone coming by public transport. If you’ve never been to Doloris before it might be a bit strange to enter the freight lift, but once you’re upstairs you’ll understand why this is one of my favorite spots in Tilburg.
The interior is beautiful with warm colors and from the outdoor area you’ve got great views over the city. On the menu at Doloris you’ll find street-food dishes from all over the world. And during this vegetarian food tour Doloris shows you that those dishes can be vegetarian as well. You can for example get this ‘cauliflower steak’. If cauliflower would always be prepared this well, I would eat it every day!

When you’re done at Doloris you’ll walk or bike back in the direction of the train station for a bit and you’ll turn left into the Willem II street. You’ll find the next stop on your lefthand side.

2 Focus Foodbar

I couldn’t create a vegetarian food tour in Tilburg without stopping at Focus Foodbar. Focus Foodbar is a 100% vegetarian restaurant. There aren’t any meat and fish dishes on the menu. Even more; it’s totally plant-based so everything on the menu is vegan. I love going to a restaurant and being able to chose everything from the menu! You can enjoy your dish inside, but Focus Foodbar also has a nice terrace for sunny days. I even took a group of bloggers from abroad to Focus Foodbar when I took them on an International blogger tour in Tilburg.

After Focus Foodbar it’s time for a nice walk or bike ride to the Piusplein. You can continue walking in the direction of the Oude Markt. Here you’ll walk pass the church and turn left onto the Schouwburgring. This’ll continue into the Paleisring. After that you can go left to the Piusplein.

3 Gastrobar Rix

The third course of this Vegetarian Food Tour is at Gastrobar Rix. The relative young chef Ricky Spijkers opened his own restaurant after working in other restaurants for years. At his own restaurant he can surprise his guests with creative concepts and create delicious dishes. You’ll get a nice dish at Gastrobar Rix, but I advice you to go back another time to order his famous truffle pasta that’s prepared in a big Parmezan cheese at your table.

When you’re done at Gastrobar Rix you’ll walk towards the Piushaven for the last stop of the tour.

4 Eethuis Twintig

The last restaurant can be found at the Piushaven and is called Eethuis Twintig. Eethuis Twintig started a few years ago by 2 enthusiastic ladies. Current owner Thomas Inderfurth took over and is perhaps even more enthusiastic. Eethuis Twintig is the perfect spot for a nice drink and a delicious dinner. During your foodie tour you’ll get a taste of it by trying one of their desserts. Owner Thomas and his team love to surprise their guests and themselves so it’s always a surprise which dessert you’ll get at Eethuis Twintig. But you can be sure that it’s prepared with love and will look great.
Close off the evening with a nice cup of coffee, glass of tea, a nice glass of wine or a good beer of course.

You can book the Vega Foodie Tour Tilburg on the website of Ticket to Tilburg. The costs are €30,- per person. This includes reservation costs and excludes drinks, that you can just pay at the restaurant. But you’ll get 4 delicious vegetarian dishes and an original night out.
