Chocolate Pancake Tacos

Did you already hear of Pancake Tacos? They’re pancakes in the shape of a taco. This way you can easily stuff them with your favourite toppings and eat them with your hands. Making pancake tacos a great dessert for when you’re having friends over or when you’re throwing a party. I made vegan chocolate pancake tacos. So I created my own version of the food trend Pancake Tacos by making them vegan and making a chocolate version. On this page you can find the recipe of my vegan chocolate pancake tacos.

Food Mash-Up

Pancake Tacos are a food mash-up. You might know the term mash-up for songs, when 2 songs are combined into one new song. You can do the same with food! Just combine two existing dishes and create a new dish. I love food mash-ups and I’ve already got several food mash-up recipes on my website. Sushi Pie for example and Quesawaffles which are quesadilla waffles. This time I made pancake tacos, which is of course a mash-up between pancakes and tacos. Don’t get confused because of the word ‘tacos’, this dish is sweet, not savory.

I made vegan pancake tacos and served them with fresh fruit and melted vegan chocolate. I used a bit of vegan chocolate protein powder. Recipe Chocolate Pancake Tacos

Below is the recipe of these van chocolate pancake tacos.

Ingredients (serves 2):
1 banana
125 grams (1 cup) flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 tablespoon cacao powder
250 ml (1 cup) plant based milk
Optionally: 1 tablespoon chocolate protein powder

Coconut oil for baking
Fresh fruit of your choice
100 grams (vegan) chocolate

Mix all the ingredients for the pancakes in a food processor.
Warm some coconut oil in a frying pan. Use a sauce spoon to great even portions. Pour one sauce spoon of the batter in the pan. If you have space you can bake 2 or 3 pancakes at the same time.
When you take them out of the pan, fold them double when you make the next batches.
Peel and/or chop the fruit if needed. Melt the chocolate au-bain-marie.
Fill the chocolate pancake tacos with the fresh fruit and serve with the chocolate sauce.
