As of this weekend restaurant MOOD has opened up in Tilburg. You can find them at the Piushaven which is becoming my favorite area of Tilburg with all its new and nice restaurants.
Restaurant MOOD is open for lunch, dinner and bites. And a great addition the the Piushaven area and Tilburg in general.
You can find MOOD where restaurant Bij Vermeer used to be. If you liked the food at Bij Vermeer (like I did), you don’t have to be too sad as chef Willem will stay in the kitchen. As a matter of fact; he’s one of the owners now! Together with his wife Nonja and business partner Harco van Ommen he’ll own restaurant MOOD.
Nonja has many years of experience in restaurants as well, and she and Willem owned a restaurant in Boxtel before.
Mood is a restaurant that, besides lunch and dinner will also have a big focus on drinkes with snacks; or as the Dutch call it ‘Borrel’.
They work together with great partners like Dare Wines who’ll make sure that there’ll be matching wines for every dish on the menu and Made Blue who’ll donate to projects for clean drinking water for every bottle of water sold.
They have an extensive menu at Restaurant Mood in Tilburg. There are no less than 9 starters and 3 soups to choose from and 9 main dishes. Two of the main dishes are vegetarian; a wrap filled with vegetables, nuts and goat cheese and the pasta with mushrooms, truffle, pecorino cheese and rocket that I had.
They also have a children’s section on the menu with pasta bolognese and french fries.
They also have 5 desserts to choose from. A dame Blanche, a creme brûlée, a cheese platter, Strawberry Romanof and Willem’s chocolate cake. I absolutely recommend the latter. This chocolate cake is the signature cake of chef Willem. It’s heavy enough to order one for two people but real chocolate lovers might want one for themselves.
