Today the Lekker500 for 2020 is released. Every year the Dutch magazine announces the 500 best restaurants in the Netherlands. I went to the release party and on this page I’m telling you all about the new Lekker500 and the restaurants in Brabant that are listed this year. As I’m born and raised in Brabant, I always feel extra proud of the restaurants in Noord Brabant who made it to the list.
Highlights of the Lekker500 2020
The highest new entry is for Beluga Loves You in Maastricht (position 36).
The biggest climber is 212 in Amsterdam, position 20 (37 places up).
There are 6 new restaurants in the Top 100. Zarzo in Eindhoven is the only newcomer from Noord Brabant.

You can buy the new Lekker magazine in your bookshop or supermarket.
Hennessy Gastvrijheidsprijs
During the launch of the new Lekker500 2020, the Hennessy Gastvrijheidsprijs (hospitality award) was also handed out. The winner was 26 year old Tim Wellenberg from restaurant Hanninkshof in Enschede.
On the 7th place you can find Stefan Emmen, the only finalist from Brabant. With only 22 years old he was one of the youngest finalists of the Hennessy Gastvrijheidsprijs. Stefan works at restaurant Zarzo in Eindhoven.
