Whipped Feta Spread

This whipped feta spread is a great dip to serve at a party. And when I’m feeling fancy, I use it on my sandwich for lunch as well. On this page I’m sharing the recipe for whipped feta spread.

I first heard of whipped feta in the Avocado cookbook, it’s so simple yet so revolutionary. It really gives a whole new dimension to your plain old feta cheese. By whipping feta in your food processor you get a real fluffy texture, almost liked whipped cream. I added some cream cheese to this whipped feta spread so that it’s even more spreadable. I topped it with some of my favorite Israeli herbs. I used za’atar and Aleppo Pepper. Aleppo Pepper is named after the city Aleppo in Syria, it’s sometimes called Pul Biber or medium hot pepper. I got those spices from the Ottolenghi spices box from Tea Salt & Spices, if you use code ANNE10 you get a 10% discount.
If you don’t have any Aleppo Pepper, don’t worry. You can also use some regular black pepper.
A good olive oil is also a recommendation for this whipped feta recipe!

Recipe Whipped Feta Spread

Ingredients (for 1 bowl):
200 grams feta cheese
100 grams cream cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil (and extra for serving)
Za’atar
Aleppo Pepper

Put the feta cheese, cream cheese and two tablespoons of olive oil in a food processor. Mix until whipped (this will take about 2-3 minutes). Transfer the whipped feta to a bowl. Drizzle with extra olive oil and sprinkle with the za’atar and Aleppo Pepper.

You can of course make a bigger or smaller portion. Just make sure that you have twice as much feta cheese as cream cheese and you’ll be good.

I served my whipped feta spread with toasted bread, smeared with olive oil.
