Eixample in Barcelona is a large neighborhood that can be found north of the old city. It starts north of Place Catalunya and stretches far from East to West. There are many nice restaurants, bars and food shops in Eixample. On this page I’m sharing the best restaurants and food spots in Eixample, Barcelona.
Cremat Lounge
Cremat Lounge is a very Instagrammable restaurant in Eixample. Not only the interior is very picturesque with velvet chairs and a neon ‘Oops! I did it Again’ sign, the dishes on the menu are also great for your Instagram account. They’ve got many vegetarian and vegan dishes on their menu. Pictured you see their vegan Lemon Blueberry Pancakes.
Cremat Lounge is the big brother of Cremat 11, that you can find in the El Born area.
Brunch and Cake
Brunch and Cake has three locations in Barcelona, of which two are in Eixample. There’s one on Carrer d’Enric Granados, in the south of Eixample, not too far from Place de la Catalunya. And there’s one in the North of Eixample, on Carrer del Rosselló. They have delicious brunch (and lunch) options. Many healthy and vegan options but, as the name suggests, you can have cake for dessert!
Oma Bistro
Oma Bistro is on of the best restaurants in Eixample in Barcelona. It has an unpretentious interior, a bit industrial and raw even. But they’ve got a perfect brunch menu, all the classics are on it. From Eggs Benedict to French Toast and Pancakes. The latter are served with their own home-made syrup that’s really tasty. You can find Oma Bistro in the South-West of Eixample.
Billy Brunch & Garden
You might walk straight past Billy Brunch if you didn’t know it has a lovely backyard. But it’s a wonderful calm oasis in the middle of the city. They’ve got some lovely brunch dishes like this avocado toast with optional poached egg. You can’t make reservations so expect a long line between 1 and 2 pm.
There are two other Billy restaurants in Barcelona.
Belliny by the Benedict
If you like poached eggs, you should definitely visit Belliny by the Benedict. As the name suggests they’ve got Eggs Benedict, but they also have all kinds of variations. Not only the ones you might know like Eggs Florentine with salmon, but also Eggs Riojano with cheddar and chorizo for example. My favorite is the Eggs Benedict with avocado and red pesto. They’ve also got omelet dishes, pancakes, burgers, smoothies and smoothie bowls.
The Coffee House Barcelona
A friend took me to The Coffee House in Eixample because of the great coffees, but as a tea drinker, I loved it because of the good brunch deals. For only 7,50 you get a coffee of your choice, a glass of orange juice, a bowl with yoghurt and granola and avocado toast. They’ve also got other combination deals, and all kinds of separate items on the menu too. Like bagels, toast and healthy bowls like an acai bowl.
Zenith
Zenith can be found at the South-East side of Eixample, near Placa de Catalunya. I love Zenith for brunch. They’ve got all my favorite brunch dishes and made them even tastier then the regular versions. And the dishes are also very good priced. They’ve got Eggs Benedict, Shakshuka and all kinds of pancakes. Pictured you see their banana bread with baked banana, blueberry compote, fresh fruit and banana cream. You can also order a vegan version of this banana bread.
You can also find Zenith in Porto, Lisbon and Madrid.
Tino
A ‘Tino‘ is a unique dish, it’s something in between a pizza, burrito and empanada. This great invention has the right balance between dough and filling and the crust is the perfect combination of soft and crispy. They’ve got several flavors, including vegetarian and vegan ones. The Tino with spinach and goat cheese on the left is the Cabracadabra, and the one on the right with vegan ‘minced meat’ is the Mexigan. The best thing to do is order a box of 4 different ones as a lunch for 2 people, or a box of 8 as dinner for two.
Boro Bar
As you might know, I’m one of the members of the Instagram account @wherebarcelonaeats. The first time we met up with the team, we had lunch at Boro Bar in Eixample. Besides their regular a-la-carte menu they also have a three course menu that changes every day. It’s always good value for money, so I recommend their menu del dia.
Albé Barcelona
One of the best restaurants in Eixample is Albé. Albé Barcelona serves Lebanese dishes, the size of tapas. Each dis is incredibly tasty and they’ve got many delicious vegetarian options. Pictured you see their Labneh and hummus. They also have homemade falafel, crispy celeriac bites and roasted aubergine. Our favorite dish was the cauliflower. We even ordered it twice because we loved it so much.
CocoVail Beer hall
Looking for a good restaurant to go with a group of friends? Are you a sports lover that wants to watch the game? Or do you like to have a lot of choice in draft beers? Reasons enough to go to CocoVail Beerhall! This spacious pub has big tables that you can reserve with your group, 20 beers on draft and a great food menu with all kinds of bar food like nachos and burgers. And they’ve got chicken wings in 3 portion sizes and with a choice of no less than 16 flavors.
Jardinet d’Aribau
Restaurant Jardinet d’Aribau in Eixample gives you the feeling that you’re eating outside in a lovely garden, whilst you’re actually eating inside. There are many silk plants and ‘patios’ to give you that outside courtyard feeling. The food is also very tasty, this burrata with sun-dried tomatoes and basil oil is one of my recommendations.
65 Cafe
65 Cafe in Eixample serves several great brunch dishes like Shakshuka and Avocado Toast. But most people go for a coffee and one of the very tasty sweets that they have. This can either be a sweet brunch dish like pancakes or waffles, or one of the cakes or pastries. And I really love 65 Cafe because of its interior. Isn’t it pretty?
Honest Greens
Honest Greens has 3 locations in Barcelona and one of them is in Eixample, just North of Place de la Catalunya. Honest Greens focusses on ‘real foods’, so no artificial preservatives or refined sugars and organic where possible. It’s a great spot for a healthy meal. The entire menu (except for the artisan bread) is gluten-free.
Morrow Coffee
Morrow Coffee serves some very good coffee. And is also a great spot for tea lovers, pastry fans and digital nomads. In their small but stylish corner restaurant you can enjoy your coffee to stay or pick it up to go.
Boldú
Boldú is a bakery with several locations in Barcelona, of which 5 of them are in Eixample. This family business has had bakeries since 1939. They’re mostly known for their Bolduman. These sweets are stuffed man-shaped donuts. They come in all kinds of flavors like Praline, raspberry or caramel. During holidays they’ve got special limited editions, like with Christmas in Barcelona or this ghost filled with white chocolate cream during Halloween.
Secrets by Farga
After you had a healthy lunch at Secrets by Farga, like scrambled eggs with mushrooms and guacamole, you can spoil yourself with a pastry for dessert. At the entrance you can see all their cakes and pastries on display. From vegan brownies, to chocolate cakes and cheesecakes. Here you see their lemon cake. Want to get some vitamins in? You can go for one of their juices to go with it.
Bodega Picarol
Looking for an authentic tapas bar in Barcelona? Bodega Picarol in Eixample is a great place to go! It’s a great bar for a nice glass of wine or vermut, and of course some tapas. It’s a small and cosy restaurant. My favorite spot is the seat in the window, where you can do some people watching and feel the nice evening breeze.
Vida Mona
Restaurante La Terraza de Anna by Vida Mona is a rooftop bar in Eixample. If you peek your head over the balustrade you can even see Casa Batllo. It’s a nice bar to go for a drink. We weren’t great fans of the food however.

Soda Bus
Did you know that there’s a bar in Barcelona with a bus inside? At ‘Soda Bus’ there’s a London-style double-decker bus inside the bar. In the bus the staff will prepare your drinks. The seats are further back. It’s an original place to go for a drink!
